My Dream Job...
My dream job is to be an actress, but realistically that's not possible. There are too few job opportunities out there and I want a job with a steady income and job security. So the next best thing for me is a Public Relations Specialist job.
I enjoy writing and speaking to people, and a job as a PR specialist requires quite a bit of both. PR deals with mediating between the company they are employed with and that company's target audience, usually consumers. That being said, PR specialist must represent their company in the best light, often "performing" or "putting on a show" for the consumers. Sort of like acting. As a PR specialist, I can be an actress while having job security and a steady, perhaps even relatively wealthy, income.
There is a stigma that's attached to PR: it's dirty. Well obviously companies make mistakes from time to time and customers aren't happy when that happens, but PR jobs aren't exclusively found in workplaces where oil spills, faulty car parts, or unpopular politicians are a common problem. There are many PR jobs out there for companies and other places of business that are not as scandalous. For example, PR jobs for nonprofit organizations, theaters, restaurants, colleges, etc. So I can be involved in PR without having to sacrifice my morality or correct many nationally significant mistakes.
In short, a job as a Public Relations Specialist is my dream job because I would get to write, interact with people, create positive relationships between people, and even act a little bit, all while maintaining my job security and bringing home the cash money.
